Past Members of
Mission of Blues

John Moriconi - Lead Vocalist - Trumpet
John has been singing most of his life and has a dusky Blues, R& B voice that is reminiscent of a combination of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bobby Blue Bland and, Clarence Carter. He works the crowd in such a way that all have fun with him fronting the band.

Pat Pepin - Lead Vocalist - Sax
Pat Pepin is a singer and saxophonist who knows the blues from the inside out. She sings with conviction and power, infusing her music with heart-felt emotion reminiscent of her vocal influences: Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin and Etta James. From a hardscrabble childhood in central Maine, Pepin began her singing career in the church choir, like countless blues and soul singers before her. As a young single mother, she earned a B.S. degree in music from the University of Maine at Augusta..s respected music program, majoring in saxophone and vocals.

Jim Schultz - Drums
Jim was the original drummer for the MOB and along with Steve and George started the band through informal jam sessions in his basement back in the winter of 1994. He is self taught and has been playing drums since the age of 10. His versatile drumming talent along with Paul's stylish bass playing created the solid rhythm backbone for the MOB. He has since retired from the MOB to pursue other interests but still however stays in touch with the band. Jim's last chapter with the MOB is his drumming contribution on the MOB's first full length CD and being the drummer for the MOB during the January 2000 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee.

Quote from Jim:

"I've been in a lot of bands in my time but I have never played behind a
nicer and more talented group of guys than the guys in the MOB. The
talents, the playing styles, and the personalities kept this band unique
and pleasant. Steve, George, Paul and John, thank you for everything. It was
a soul filling experience that I will never forget for as long as I live."

Doug Turet - Drums
Doug began playing the drums in 1969 and has been performing and teaching them professionally since 1977. A former student of Ben Gramm, Lenny White (Return To Forever) and the late Gary Chester, Doug makes his home in the Blues and R&B, but takes journeys to distant destinations in Jazz, Funk, Rock, Folk and Orchestral music, just to keep things fresh and interesting.
